The Advanced Instrumentation and Technology Centre (AITC) is a national facility at the Mount Stromlo Observatory in Canberra. It was established to support the development of the next generation of instruments for astronomy and represents Australia's 10% share in the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT).

Dr Naomi Mathers is a leader in the Australian Space Industry. She has a technical background in Aerospace Engineering with experience in research, industry, education and policy development, and extensive experience representing Australia in regional and international forums. She also has extensive experience in international collaboration where in 2009 and 2012 she represented Australia on the International Space Education Board.
