Creating Youth Business Initiatives (CYBI)

The CYBI program may provide access to grant and/or loan funding and one-to-one business mentoring to eligible applicants intending to develop their business venture. This program is delivered in conjunction with the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS). CYBI is a non-profit organisation of volunteers from the business, private, public and community sector in association with the ACT Government and the Foundation for Young Australians.

Is This Program For You?

The CYBI program helps assist young unemployed entrepreneurs to:

establish successful sustainable businesses;
achieve personal and financial independence;
encourage overall personal development; and
enhance their role and contribution to society.

Eligibility

The program is aimed at young unemployed entrepreneurs of the ACT and region. You must:

be between 18-28 years of age;
have completed suitable small business training;
produce a business plan to CYBI specified standards;
have received an affirmative assessment and recommendation from the CYBI committee;
accept a nominated mentor by CYBI for 24 months; and
undertake to spend a minimum of 20 hours per week working in your business.
