Dr Paul D. Nielsen, Director and CEO of Software Engineering Institute (SEI) will be speaking at a public presentation at UNSW Canberra. SEI is a global leader in advancing software and cybersecurity to solve the nation's toughest problems through focused research, development and transition to the broad software engineering community.

The SEI is a key innovator in areas central to U.S. Department of Defense and civilian government operation in the cyberspace domain, including software architecture, software product lines, interoperability, the integration of software-intensive systems, network and system resilience, and the increasing overlap of software and systems engineering. The SEI also provides direct support to more than 50 U.S. government entities in their efforts to efficiently and effectively acquire and sustain new software and systems.

Hosted by the Capability Systems Centre, a UNSW industry centre resident within UNSW Canberra. The Centre is an independent think tank that offers cutting edge research and analysis to government, defence and industry. The Centre, through its research, publications, education, and events, combines world-class academic expertise across a range of disciplinary areas relevant to the delivery of capability systems, from conceptual design to acquisition and disposal. The Centre’s activities focus on systems acquisition and in particular on the application of systems science, systems thinking, complex systems, system of systems, systems engineering, requirements engineering, and systems engineering management and project management.
