In-Market Representation - Washington DC, USA

The In-Market representation provides on-the-ground assistance to ACT companies entering USA markets.  The representative will provide support in the following ways:

  • be a point of contact for ACT and region businesses doing or wanting to do business in North America using Washington or surrounding regions (e.g. Virginia, Maryland) as their launch pad;
  • further develop relationships and contacts with key organisations such as Austrade, Greater Washington Initiative (GWI) and Virginia Economic Development (VEDP) to assist ACT companies establish business relationships in the USA with a particular focus on government and private sector in the greater Washinton DC area;
  • assist individual ACT businesses to establish appropriate business contacts;
  • source requested research on a fee for service basis;
  • establish and maintain a database of service providers in the fields of legal expertise, accounting, taxation, recruitment etc;
  • identify business opportunities that fit local industry strengths; and
  • identify appropriate business trade shows for ACT business and ACT Government participation.

Greater Washington Initiative—Washington DC, USA

Under an MoU with the ACT Government, the Greater Washington Initiative (GWI) provides inward investment facilitation to ACT companies entering the USA markets.

Services
The GWI will support ACT companies utilising the ACT Industry Office in Washinton DC by providing free business support services, including:

  • research;
  • useful introductions;
  • tours; and
  • market intelligence.

As a one-stop shop for corporate clients and site selection, GWI consultants provide complimentary and confidential client services and research. A non-profit affiliate of The Greater Washington Board of Trade, GWI works in conjunction with all Washington area economic development organisations. GWI is financially supported by all local public jurisdictions and more than 70 Washington area companies.
