ACT Government Business Mission to Malaysia

Expressions of Interest Sought

The ACT Government, in partnership with Austrade, invite Canberra-based businesses to join the ACT Chief Minister, Jon Stanhope MLA on a business delegation to Malaysia with the option to also explore opportunities in other ASEAN markets.

This mission will be themed around the ACT’s strong capabilities in the ICT, Defence and Security sectors.

Following the Malaysian market program, mission delegates have the option for an Austrade supported business program in other ASEAN markets, including participation at CommunicAsia in Singapore. This is the premier ICT sector trade exhibition in the region.

Expressions of Interest

Expressions of Interest are due by close of business Friday 22 April 2011.

Assistance available

The ACT Government will financially support participants by covering all Austrade fees for service charges that relate to the development and delivery of a tailored business-to-business matching program in Malaysia and Singapore as well as one other ASEAN destination. It will also cover costs associated with mission functions and networking events.

Smaller companies with a turnover under $5 million may qualify for additional ACT Government funding support to offset up to 50% of other approved mission-specific costs they may incur. This support will be to a maximum of $3,000.

How are companies selected?

The number of participating companies on the mission is limited. Companies will be selected based on their export readiness and the suitability of their service or product offering for the relevant markets.
