ICON CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE STRONG DEMAND

Since September 2011 the InnovationConnect (ICon) program has considered 12 applications seeking funding support in both the Proof of Technology and Accelerating Innovation categories totalling $468,825. Funding has been awarded to 8 companies totalling $208,825 in various sectors including healthcare, social media, electrical construction, web content accessibility for the sight & hearing impaired, recreational sport and the finance. Applications for the next Proof of Technology funding round close on Thursday 24 November 2011 with the Panel scheduled to consider the applications on 6 December 2011. Further information on the ACT Government’s ICon program is available at www.business.act.gov.au/icon.
