The ACT Government's Skilled and Business (SBM) unit received a great response during the recent international marketing campaign to promote Canberra as a place to live and work. SMB and Live in Canberra officers visited New Zealand, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa over three weeks and presented 18 seminars, conducted meetings with overseas migration agents and met many potential skilled migrants. During the London leg of the campaign, SBM Officers and other State government representatives participated in a State Migration Plan (SMP) Forum. The Forum provided UK based migration agents with detailed information that enhanced their understanding and appreciation of the role SMPs play in meeting skill requirements for each state.
