INNOVATION CONNECT PROGRAM SUCCESS

The ACT continues to give rise to new and exciting companies, helped along a bit by ACT Government support. ACT bio-tech company Pestat has developed an aerosol product which is non-toxic, environmentally friendly andhumanely kills one of Australia's most destructive feral pests, the cane toad. With ACT Government innovation grant assistance, the product has emerged from the commercialisation process. Pestat's Cane Toad aerosol is being marketed under the name HopStop and is now available in the major cane toad infested regions of Australia. Pestat is also running for the development of the best aerosol product of the year. Pestat is located at the University of Canberra and continues to undertake research for the development of new products in the feral pest sector.
