LOCAL COMPANIES BENEFIT FROM INTENSIVE NORTH AMERICAN MARKET EXPERIENCE WITH GAP

Two ACT-based companies, myinfoQ and CIC Secure, have completed an intensive US visit program, including workshops, networking and business presentations. Both companies have provided positive feedback, having gained valuable knowledge and contacts to help further develop their export opportunities and markets. The visit was part of an ACT pilot of a program called Global Acceleration Program, which is run by Pyksis Pty Ltd.

MyinfoQ enables the collection, aggregation and ongoing discovery of personal information and events. MyinfoQ is a simple web publishing platform, allowing user generated SMS codes for self distribution of information in areas such as real estate, small business, events, music and more.

CIC Secure provides a range of high quality key cabinets as well as other key management products aimed at increasing the security of a business facility and physical asset management by providing secure key storage, total key control and full key auditing capabilities.

One of the companies joined Pyksis to report on the experience pointing to positive outcomes including US investment and the development of some excellent networks. It also reported that the mixing of ACT and Victorian companies on the program was very successful with an exchange of business already happening.

GAP assists companies wanting to enter export markets in North America to develop sustainable and practical market entry strategies, develop alliances, establish linkages in the target markets and benefit from tailored one-on-one mentoring over a five month program. The program has been developed by Pyksis Pty Ltd. The opportunity for local companies to participate in GAP was supported by the ACT Exporter's Network and the ACT Government's Trade Connect program.
