TARGETING SKILLS IN THE UK

Canberra’s strong economy and low unemployment continues to contribute to skill shortages in Canberra. The ACT Government’s suite of initiatives to combat this shortage includes the promotion of employment opportunities in Canberra to international workers with the right skills.

Business Development will participate in the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s ‘Skills Australia Needs’ event in London from 25 to 28 February. The campaign will also see participation in a State and Territory Open Day in Manchester and the Working Abroad Expo in Dublin.

More Canberra businesses are now considering international employment markets as a great source of skilled labour. Sponsoring a skilled worker from overseas on a temporary or permanent work visa may be the solution to your business’s skills shortages.
