BUSINESSES VALUE ACT GOVERNMENT TRADE SUPPORT

The success of the ACT Government's trade facilitation was highlighted at a focus group on international business collaboration, convened by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research late last year. Canberra based companies that do business overseas participated in the focus group, and provided positive feedback on ACT Government support, including the Ministerial led trade missions, and the TradeConnect grant program. In particular, the programs' responsiveness and ease of accessing grants, along with the relative lack of red tape in complying with grant requirements, was praised. The focus group was held to gather information about the drivers and barriers to doing business overseas.
