NEW EVENT FOR CANBERRA FESTIVAL - ENLIGHTEN

The ACT Government is making final preparations for a new annual major event that will premiere in March to coincide with the Canberra Festival. Enlighten: See Canberra in a whole new light aims to showcase the nation's capital and drive visitation to the ACT. The event sees Canberra play host to a program of major concerts featuring international artists. In addition to the concerts, the National Gallery of Australia, Parliament House and Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House will open their doors for special after-dark experiences and exclusive platinum offerings.

The concerts will be staged on the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin, surrounded by spectacular lighting effects canvassed across the vast facades of the participating national attractions. Headline acts include George Benson (Friday 11 March), INXS (Saturday 12 March), Chris Isaak (Friday 18 March) and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons (Saturday 19 March).
