Local businesses continue to perform strongly. and are looking forward confidently to the busy Christmas trading weeks, the latest survey results from the ACT and Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry reveal.
Launching the Chamber's latest Quarterly Expectations Survey on 24 November, Chief Minister Jon Stanhope said the new figures highlighted the resilience of the ACT business sector, despite persistent challenges in the wash-up of the Global Financial Crisis.
"While some performance indicators slowed during the September quarter, it is encouraging that others - including employment, overtime, and capital expenditure on both buildings and plant and equipment - rose in comparison to the previous quarter," Mr Stanhope said.
