Minister for Children and Young People Joy Burch, on behalf of the Chief Minister, inducted a cohort of 30 new International Student Ambassadors at the recent launch of the 2011 International Student Ambassador Program. The program enjoyed strong interest through the application process and the inductees were selected by their respective institutions. Several students from last year's cohort attended with the intention to remain engaged with the program as an alumni. The new International Student Ambassadors come from 16 countries and are studying in a wide range of areas including PhD studies, post graduate and vocational disciplines. The students will participate in a range of cultural, business and social activities over the next twelve months.
