COMMERCIALISATION AUSTRALIA

Commercialisation Australia (CA) is to be launched next month. Formerly the Commonwealth Commercialisation Institute, CA will provide advice and services around commercialising ideas for ‘talented researchers, entrepreneurs and innovative firms to take their ideas to market’.

The Business and Industry Development Branch, along with other jurisdictions, has actively engaged with the Federal Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and lobbied to ensure that CA has a visible and active presence here in Canberra.

CA will give successful applicants access to funding of up to $250,000 for proof of concept activities and repayable funding of up to $2 million for early stage commercialisation activities.

CA will be overseen by a board and delivered at the local level by case managers and volunteer mentors.
