BUSINESS ONLINE SERVICES

An information session was held last month for ACT Government agencies which will be affected by the introduction of Business Online Services (BOS), scheduled for introduction in September next year.

The session, organised by the Business and Industry Development Branch, included presentations by:

  • the Federal Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (lead agency for the BOS Project);
  • the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (responsible for the associated Jurisdictional Engagement Project); and
  • the Business and Industry Development Branch, representing the ACT’s interest in the program.

Topics covered included: relevant Council of Australian Governments’ directives and agreements; project scope and timeframes; benefits to business and government of the BOS system capabilities and integrations; agency engagement; and the Victorian experience.

The Business and Industry Development Branch provided an outline of the Project’s progress to date in the ACT and encouraged agency representatives to seek additional information, raise the Project’s profile, and work collaboratively towards an incremental implementation of BOS in the ACT.
