ACT companies may be in-line to benefit from an Australian drive into India’s defence-related procurement market.
India was a focus of the June meeting of the Australian Governments Defence Export Support Forum (AGDESF). The Forum coordinates defence export activity at trade shows and missions under the banner of ‘Team Australia’. Its Defence Export Unit has developed a draft export campaign plan that will form the basis for a concerted drive for Indian defence-related procurement. India is seen as a priority opportunity for Australian defence companies as it has recently opened up to the global market and is well funded.
The ACT Government’s Business and Industry Development Unit represented the ACT at the Forum meeting, and will promote opportunities in India, along with trade shows and missions to other countries, to ACT companies.
