NATIONAL EXECUTIVE OF SMALL BUSINESS AGENCIES (NESBA)

The National Executive of Small Business Agencies (NESBA), whose members are senior representatives of all state/territory government agencies that provide services and programs to small business, recently held its biennial meeting.

Agenda items of particular interest to the ACT included:

  • Information about social networking activities being conducted by Victoria and NSW.
  • Sustainability and cluster development small business grants by the Northern Territory and Queensland.
  • The sharing of information and experiences related to the delivery of small business months (NSW, ACT, Victoria and Northern Territory).
  • The loans program offered in some jurisdictions by the National Australia Bank to micro businesses that can’t get access to mainstream capital.

The ACT Government’s Business and Industry Development Branch will investigate the National Australia Bank program to determine whether it could be offered in the ACT.
