FORUM ON THE NEW NATIONAL BUSINESS NAMES REGISTRATION SYSTEM

The Australian Government’s Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research cordially invites you to a briefing on the proposed new national business names registration system which is due to start in the first half of 2011.

The purpose of business name registration is to help identify those trading under names that aren’t the same as their personal, company or other entity name. Therefore the primary purpose of registration is consumer protection.

Currently business names must be registered in each state or territory a business operates in. The new system requires business name registration nationally only.

The briefing forums are being held in each capital city.

The Canberra briefing forum will be held on:

The forum will include a presentation followed by question and answer session. Hand outs will be available.
Registration for the forum is essential.
