The Government of Malta’s investment agency has visited Canberra to exchange ideas on investment programs and initiatives.
Representatives of Malta Government Technology Investments Limited (MGTIL) met with the ACT Government’s Business and Industry Development Branch and National ICT Australia (NICTA), with a focus on MGTIL’s project to establish Smart City Malta and its interests in the gaming and e-Government industries.
The visit was spurred in part by the ACT Government’s trade mission to the United Arab Emirates in 2009 – Smart City Malta is funded by Dubai company TECOM Investments, whom the ACT Government delegation met during its visit to Smart City Dubai.
Another ACT–Malta connection was established by local company the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, which met with Maltese representatives prior to joining the trade mission in the UAE.
