ACT Government officials have been taking part in meetings to plan the agenda and provide substance for discussions at the annual Small Business Ministerial Council (SBMC), this year to be held in Melbourne on 6 August.
Climate change, retail tenancy, COAG reforms and franchising are expected to be issues on the agenda.
The SBMC Standing Officials also prepared a submission to the Commonwealth Indigenous Economic Development Strategy (IEDS) for endorsement by the Council. The submission was made to the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) in early March.
The SBMC meets annually and comprises Australian Government, state, territory and New Zealand Government ministers directly responsible for small business policy.
