ACT AND HONG KONG BUSINESSES CELEBRATE LUNAR NEW YEAR

Canberra and Hong Kong businesses came together on March 15 to celebrate the 2010 Chinese New Year, ushering in the Chinese zodiac year of the Tiger.

The event was jointly hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Canberra Branch of the Hong Kong Australian Business Association, and served as an opportunity for the local business community to meet and share their interests in exporting opportunities in Hong Kong and China.

Member for Brindabella Joy Burch MLA joined the celebrations and was pleased to note both the ACT and Hong Kong economies’ increase in exports at the end of 2009, in a year that has not been the easiest for many exporting businesses.
