An internet-based ‘Innovation Portal’ providing a valuable resource for information, learning and networking around innovation and entrepreneurship has been launched in the ACT.
The site aims to support the InnovationACT community and will enhance the interaction between entrepreneurs, mentors and representatives of government and industry.
InnovationACT is a highly successful business planning and commercialisation competition run by the ANU and the University of Canberra with some funding support from the ACT Government.
The new supporting web portal is based around a social network infrastructure where individuals can form groups, post information, collaborate, share information and events, and interact.
ACT business leaders and the ACT’s next generation of entrepreneurs attended the launch at the ANU on 27 October 2009. The event also marked the launch of the next InnovationACT competition which has previously attracted over 100 participants leading to 30 teams being formed.
The Program has received strong endorsement from many of Canberra’s leading entrepreneurs for the quality of ideas and skills being developed by university students and staff.
