ACT businesses seeking federal grants to support their export endeavours have until the end of this month to apply for the next round. Application forms for the last of the 2008-09 rounds must be lodged with Austrade by 30 November 2009.
The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) application information packages and grant application forms can be obtained from the Austrade website at: www.austrade.gov.au/exportgrants.![]()
Businesses should give themselves time to apply and gain all their supporting documentation as applications are only accepted by post or hand delivery.
The EMDG scheme is a key Australian Government financial assistance program for aspiring and current exporters.
As part of the 2008 legislative changes to the EMDG scheme, businesses can now claim expenses under a new category called ‘Intellectual Property Registration and Related Insurance’.
Eligible businesses can also claim expenses under the ‘IP Registration and Related Insurance’ category that were incurred from 1 July 2008, or for first-time applicants from 1 July 2007.
