CLEAN ENERGY INITIATIVES

The ACT is an active participant in Austrade initiatives to link Australian clean technology companies to growing international clean energy opportunities.

Austrade was allocated $14.9 million in the 2009 Federal Budget to promote Australia’s clean tech industry, and the ACT Government is working with it to promote local companies.

In the latest initiative, the ACT’s clean energy credentials were on show at a workshop organised by Austrade in Melbourne on April 16. Staff from the Business and Industry Development branch of the ACT Chief Minister’s Department presented at the workshop, which set out to improve coordination among governments and to reflect the high priority placed on the clean energy and environment industry for trade and investment development agencies across Australia.
