AWARDS FOR EXPORT LEADERS OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
The 2010 Chief Minister's Export Awards are open for applications.
The annual Awards celebrate the achievements of the ACT exporters competing successfully in the world market.
"This year's Awards link well with the ACT's silver sponsorship involvement in the Shanghai World Expo to be held from May to October,” Chief Minister Jon Stanhope said in launching the Awards in late April.
"This will allow the ACT to showcase its innovative capability and exporting potential in partnership with other Australian states and territories.
"With ACT exports exceeding $1 billion a year, our exporters contribute significantly to the strength and growth of our economy and the diversification of businesses in the ACT.”
The ACT Government continues to support the ACT's exporting community through funding of the Exporter's Network, the Trade Connect grants program and international trade missions.
Applications for the Awards close on 20 July. Recipients of this year's Awards will be announced on 8 September at the Export Awards lunch, with category winners representing the ACT at the national awards in November.
