Trade Missions are an important element of the ACT Government's business development program. They are a highly focused and effective way of introducing local companies to overseas opportunities.
The ACT Government supports at least one ministerial-led mission per year, taking ACT companies to a new international market. In recent years, the focus of missions has been on China, India and the US. Previous missions included the UK, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates.
Canberra has developed strong relations with China and Japan through its sister city relationships with Beijing and Nara to further promote cultural and business opportunities. This relationship has addressed issues of environment, agriculture, tourism, education, international understanding, and peace and goodwill.
