CBR Innovation Network

The CBR Innovation Network has been established by the ACT Government and ACT innovation community to play a major role in accelerating innovation and growth to maximise wealth creation and transformation of the ACT economy. The Network is unique within Australia in that it’s based on a collaboration between five world-class research and education institutes in the ACT: the ANU, University of Canberra, NICTA, CSIRO and UNSW Canberra.

The CBR Innovation Network can assist your business to innovate in a number of ways including:

    GRIFFIN Accelerator program
    External Link - opens in new window: The GRIFFIN Accelerator is a startup accelerator in Canberra. Once a year they invite entrepreneurs to apply for a place in the 3+3 program for the opportunity to validate their idea, develop networks and fine-tune their business model.

The service provides information for all States and Territories and the Australian Government.

'Fix my Red Tape' is an online feedback tool designed to give you a place to identify any 'red tape' that affects or impedes your ability to do business in the ACT. It is also a portal to provide feedback or suggested reforms, ask questions, and/or lodge complaints.

Global Connect

Global Connect is a single program interface for the various export and trade development activities supported by the ACT Government.

Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) is a progressive, commercially focused organisation that promotes and encourages self-management, self-sufficiency and economic independence for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through its Business Development and Assistance Program, IBA assists eligible Indigenous Australians to establish, acquire and grow small to medium businesses, by providing business support services and business finance.

Innovation Connect grant program

The Innovation Connect (ICon) grant program provides funding for Canberra based businesses to develop innovative products and services.

NICTA (National ICT Australia) focuses on ICT research, innovation and commercialisation. NICTA has five laboratories around the country, including in Canberra, and partner with a number of Australian universities. With more than 600 people, NICTA are the largest organisation in Australia dedicated to ICT research.

Trade Connect grant program

The Trade Connect grant program provides funding to emerging Canberra exporters to support trade development activities.
